We have prepared the following answers to frequently asked questions to ensure you get the very best from your holiday. If there is something that we have not covered, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
What is included in the cost of my holiday?
Our Luxury Holiday Hire Units come fully equipped with Freeview TV; free WiFi; storage shed; deck with outdoor furniture; CADAC gas BBQ; central heating; fully equipped kitchen; and gas and electricity included.
Our Holiday Caravans include bedding (beds will be made for the number of people stated on your booking), kitchen towel and oven gloves. For the 2026 Season, we are offering you the option to order a Towel Pack as an extra when you make your booking. Towel Packs are bookable per person, each pack costs £7.50 (inc VAT) and will include one Bath Sheet and one Bath Towel. Towels must be ordered in advance, and at the latest, no less than 14 days prior to your arrival.
“The Wee Yin” includes all bedding, bath towels, hand towels, kitchen towel, oven gloves, and bathrobes.
Do you have washing and drying facilities?
Yes, we have an onsite laundrette with commercial washers and dryers. Advice and tokens can be purchased from Reception. Please don’t forget to bring detergent.
What time is check in/check out?
Check-in is from 3pm and check out is before 10am.
Our office opening hours are 9am to 5pm daily. If you will be checking-in after 5pm, please call ahead (01557 814351) to let us know and we will pass on the arrangements for an out-of-hours check-in.
If you are checking out prior to our office opening at 9am, holiday accommodation keys can be posted through the letterbox on the back door of our Reception; this can be found at the bottom of the path between our Reception building and the cottage next door (“Vantage Point”).
Do you have an onsite club/pub/restaurant?
No, one of the beauties of Sandgreen is the calm and tranquil atmosphere. There are many excellent restaurants and cafes within a 10-mile radius of the Park.
Does my holiday home have a TV?
Yes, all our hire units have a TV with a freesat box.
Does my holiday home have a fridge and freezer?
Yes, all holiday homes have a fridge and freezer.
Can I have a BBQ?
Yes, all holiday homes have a gas BBQ.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, dogs are very welcome in our hire fleet Caravans Dee, Cree, Cairnsmore, and Fleet with a max of 2 pets allowed per holiday caravan, each charged at £30. Caravan Criffel does not accept pets, and is therefore a pet-free holiday caravan.
Due to the size of “The Wee Yin”, we can only accommodate 1 dog in this holiday unit, however, your dog stays for free in “The Wee Yin”.
We ask that all dogs remain on the lead whilst on the park but between 9pm and 8am well behaved dogs are free to run on the beach without their leads. Please ensure all poops are scooped. We also ask that you do not permit dogs to go on furniture or beds.
Can I have groceries delivered to my holiday home?
Yes of course, Tesco, Asda and Morrisons all deliver to Sandgreen, but you will need to book delivery well in advance due to our rural location.
Is there WiFi available?
Yes, WiFi is included free of charge. Please note, we are situated in a rural location and the Wi-Fi signal may not be the same speed or strength as you would expect at home, and may be intermittent.
Can I smoke in my holiday home?
No, there is no smoking in any of our holiday homes, please smoke outside and dispose of your ‘butts’ responsibly.
Can I park my car next to my holiday home?
Yes, there is ample parking next to your holiday home. Where needed, additional vehicles can be parked in our Reception Car Park.
Is Sandgreen wheelchair friendly?
No unfortunately, due to the natural and rough terrain and the gradient of the land we do not recommend the use of wheelchairs at Sandgreen.
Am I allowed a fire?
No, sorry, no fires on the park or the beach please.
Where is the nearest shop?
Gatehouse of Fleet has a Spar shop and a Post Office/General store, it also has a pharmacy and doctor’s surgery. Gatehouse is 3.5 miles away from Sandgreen. Larger supermarkets: such as Tesco, Aldi, and Co-Op, and the nearest fuel stations can be found in the towns of Kirkcudbright (10 miles from Sandgreen) and Castle Douglas (15 miles from Sandgreen).
Where is the nearest pub/restaurant?
Gatehouse of Fleet has a very good selection of pubs and restaurants. The other larger towns of Kirkcudbright, Newton Stewart and Castle Douglas are all within a 20-minute drive from the Park.
Can I bring my boat/kayak/canoe with me?
Yes of course, boat launching is free for holiday hire customers, but we do need to see evidence that your craft is insured. Kayaks, canoes and paddleboards do not need to be insured.
